  • How often do teams practice? Are practices the same day every week?

    • Location and time is determined by the the volunteer Coaching staff
    • Grades 1-3 can expect 1 practice per week

    • While we attempt to schedule practices for the same day every week, due to vacation days, parent/teacher conferences, school concerts, and other school activities, there is sometimes variation week to week.
    • After teams are setup, Coaches will respond with the day, time and location

***Please Note:  We cannot move practice and/or game schedules to accommodate other sports***

What if my son/daughter wants to play on the same team with a friend?

Ridgefield Youth Football and Cheer holds assessments and a draft system for grades 4th through 8th to try to ensure, to the best of our ability, that teams are balanced and to encourage kids to meet new kids as they begin to enter Middle School and High School.

  • NOTE: the assessment does not apply to grades 1-3.

We have found over the years that an assessment and draft selection policy with teams chosen by the coach streamlines the process and avoids a lopsided team. Therefore, children cannot be placed with a friend unless a Coach is able to select them onto the same team during the draft process. Note: Siblings will be automatically placed on the same team.  No other special requests can be accommodated due to the size of the program.

I want to volunteer to help or coach a team. How do I do that?

  • When you sign your child up, there are options to choose Head or Assistant Coach.  It's fun and both you and your child will enjoy it.  No experience necessary. We can help fill you in and get you up-to-speed.

I still have questions. What should I do?

Our RYFC Directors are available to answer your questions. Use our contact page form to get in touch with us or email us at [email protected].
